What happened to the holiday sale?

Hi everyone,

Generally by this point (actually usually on December 1st) I put The Silver Ninja books one and two at a massive discount. This is always great for sales and usually leaves me with a little extra money to buy small gifts for my family.

Unfortunately, I am not doing it this time around.

Do I love sales? Yes. Would putting it at a discount give me sales? Yes. So why no holiday discount?

Well, as strange and ironic as it sounds. I don’t want any sales.

As those of you who have been following my blog and facebook know, I am in the middle of a massive re-write of The Silver Ninja. This re-write is so drastic that the characters, writing, and plot will only bear a passing resemblance to the 1st edition. Why would I want to sell more of a book that I am unhappy with?

“Does that mean your second book wasn’t up to snuff as well?”

No, I’m actually quite happy with how the second book came out. Unfortunately, the re-write to book one will have a butterfly effect that changes certain moments and dialogue in book two. The second book references events that will no longer exist and will only confuse readers and screw up continuity if they buy book 2 and then read book 1.

What a mess huh?

“If you’re re-writing it. Why don’t you just take it off the store?”

I WILL! And it’s a good thing you’re reading this right now.

Starting next year. The Silver Ninja books one and two will be going out of print. If you own a physical copy of the book, CONGRATULATIONS! You have a collector’s item.

Now hold on, I know what the next question is going to be already. “I already bought the 1st book, but want to read what you changed in the second edition. Do I have to buy it again?”

NO!

Anyone who has previously purchased book one and two will be eligible for a free digital copy of the book. This doesn’t apply to physical copies unfortunately, since it costs me money to print and ship it. I will make special exceptions to friends and family and fans who have been with me since the beginning. Shipping physical books is expensive, but it doesn’t cost me anything to e-mail or make them available via coupon codes.

How do you qualify to receive a free book? Simple, show me a proof of purchase or a photo of you with the book.  The end.

Anyway, that’s all I have for you this week. It’s obviously going to be a very busy holiday for me so to all of you. I hope your holiday is blessed, stress free, and most of all spent in happiness. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday!
