Welcome to the new website!

Hello, hello, welcome to the new Silver Ninja website! We are out with the old and in with the new. Since I have invested close to three years rewriting the first book, I needed the website and artwork to reflect the changes I have gone through in my writing journey. I loved my first website, it was functional, fit with the theme, and it served me well. The Silver Ninja 1.0 was like my first book. I didn’t know what I was doing, it had some problems, but it was a nice start for an amateur like myself. I saved some pictures of the website because I like to compare where I started from to where I am now.

Let’s give you a little tour shall we?

  1. First you may notice that my numbered lists finally work right!
  2. They used to get clumped together which made it hard to read and impossible to format.

I also have some nice, new, pretty headings. See? Whee!

And this.

And this . . .

and you get the idea. This will make my book reviews easier to read whether on your desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile.

Yes, you heard right. The Silver Ninja 2.0 fully supports mobile browsing. So far I’ve tested this on a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, if you run into any problems, please feel free to let me know.

The header image above dynamically scales with the width of your screen. So your viewing experience will differ depending on whether you’re viewing the website through landscape or portrait view.

The functionality of the home page has also changed.

Before, the home page was a little bit useless. It didn’t display any of my recent blog posts and I had to manually update the text whenever I needed to update you guys on what was going on. The only reason I put a book progress bar on the home page was so that it didn’t look like I had abandoned the project, when in reality, I just didn’t feel like constantly changing the text when I needed to get writing done. There was also the very big problem of my webhost being painfully slow. 5 seconds doesn’t sound like much in real life, but it becomes agonizing when you’re trying to modify a graphic or make an update that takes minutes longer than it should. So along with the new website, I also transferred to a new webhost which promises much faster load times, and so far, the switch has been worth it.

In addition to the new website layout, I’ve also consolidated some pages and removed redundant ones. The Book Sample page was cut since it was no longer needed with the book store plugin I’m using. I also removed some old graphics and updated the logo text to be a bit cleaner and easier to read.

Overall, this website marks a big step in what I hope will be a transition into a professional author. Although, I would love to make professional money off my books, so that I don’t have to work a full-time job at some other company, knowing people enjoyed my stories would be satisfaction enough. I hope you guys like the new website and I really hope you LOVE the new book.

See you soon!

Wilmar
